Plumbing Estimate Template (Free PDF)

Plumbing estimate for repairs or repipes, emergency surcharge and permit lines when you need them. Convert to invoice in one click after approval.

Loading builder…

Service minimum, hourly labor, parts, and permit fees often land on one ticket. This preset splits them so nothing is buried in a lump sum.

After the customer approves

After the customer signs or approves, click Convert to invoice in the sidebar (next to Download PDF). You do not retype line items, the tool assigns a new invoice number, today's date, and Net 30 due date, then opens the invoice builder for a final review.

Use the Convert to invoice button in the summary panel on the right.

Plumbing questions

How does estimate to invoice convert work?

Click Convert to invoice in the sidebar. Line items, business and client blocks copy over. You get a new INV- number, today's issue date, Net 30 due date, and any deposit field cleared. Edit anything before you download the invoice PDF.

What carries over when I convert?

Line items, quantities, rates, notes, tax rate, and discount settings. The estimate number stays on the old PDF only, the invoice uses the next number from your browser counter.

Do I need to re-enter the client after convert?

No. Parties and line items copy automatically. You land on /invoice with the form prefilled; review due date and totals, then download.

How do plumbers typically structure an invoice?

Common pattern: service call or minimum, labor hours, parts/materials, permit if pulled, and tax on taxable items. List emergency or after-hours surcharges as separate lines.

Do I charge sales tax on plumbing labor?

Rules vary by jurisdiction, some tax materials only, some tax the whole job if materials are bundled. Enter the rate your accountant or local regulations recommend; our tool does not determine taxability.

Should permit fees appear on the invoice?

Yes, if the customer pays for the permit. Use a lump-sum line labeled "Permit fee (city)" so it is visible on the PDF and in your records.

What payment terms do plumbers use?

Service calls often use due-on-receipt or Net 15. Larger jobs may take a deposit with balance due on completion, use the deposit field in the money block.
